Extra rooms for the intensive care unit of Rushan District Hospital

In 2018 the public organization «Jurat» responded to a request from doctors of the intensive care unit at the Central District Hospital of Rushan District to build additional rooms for medical staff and for receiving visitors. The request was well founded: the unit had limited means to improve the quality of patient care, and visitors, relatives and friends of patients often had to stand for hours in the courtyard, in heat and in cold.

Volunteers with the necessary carpentry, joinery, painting and roofing skills from the villages of Vamd, Derzud-Barzud, Vamar, Shujand and Yemts joined the construction. The walls were built and plastered within a short time, and the finishing, installation and roofing work was completed on schedule.

The new rooms were furnished and equipped with kitchenware, a television and books.
At the opening ceremony the district chairman spoke and thanked the leadership of «Jurat», the builders, volunteers and local entrepreneurs for their fruitful contribution to solving the district’s social issues.
